I can and my very first tv we had to watch it turned on its side, or stick a book under one side.
The tv cost me £10 in 1964

Don't remember that, dad wouldn't have a tv & when we got married in 1964, we did without a tv for a couple of years as it wasn't a high priority

The £10 TV was mine for my flat when I worked in Nottingham
My grandparents bought a TV for the coronation and because the reception on was so bad they had to erect a huge tower next to the bungalow.
My grandparents rented the TV and did not have to pay for the aerial.
I remember when we first got married we had something called redifusion and this was radio and TV and it did not use electricity.
We used to leave the radio on when we went out to make it sound like someone was home.
It was rented but I still had my £ 10 TV which went in the bedroom.
