Hi all I am in the process of writing a book for carers of people with dementia and would love to hear from you if you have stories to share. All too often we are faced with the dark often depressing issues. This book focuses on the few lighter sides of this cruel disease. They are often a welcome relief in the difficult times. Please take a look http:/www.jo-thompson.co.uk/ or share with others .
Thank you Jo

Hi Jo,
I hope our members will help you because I know you had some difficulties logging in.
Now you are logged in, it is easy to stay logged in for ever.
I am afraid the only story I can tell about dementia that I can think of, is again depressing.
Where does a carer go to get respite for his wife who suffers from dementia?
It is a difficult one.

Hi Jo, Firstly welcome to chill. wel222

I haven't had a great deal of experience with Dementia, my late mum was diagnosed with vascular dementia towards the end of her life.
Years ago when I was working as a paid carer I use to sometimes sit with people who had dementia to give the family carer a few hours off.

Good luck with writing your book.

Hello Jojoba, welcome to chill, I wish you success with your book, but I have no personal experience of dementia, so I cannot contribute.
