A CAMPAIGN has been launched to support unpaid carers across North Somerset.

Crossroads Care, based in Graham Road in Weston, provides information, advice and support to carers working in the district.

It wants to offer a counselling service so carers with stress or anxiety can talk about any concerns or difficulties.

Counselling manager Karen Ratcliffe said: “Counselling provides a safe and confidential environment to talk about their feelings and share any fears or concerns they may have.

“Just talking through a problem may help carers to find a new way of dealing with it and although they may not be able to change their situation, it may help them to find more positive ways of coping with it.”

Crossroads Care wants to raise money so it can launch the service and people can donate £5 to its appeal by texting CCNS14 £5 to 70070.

This should be available across the country for all carers.
