It is a good story Honey, I am tweeting this one!
Was lucky in that we managed to "make do" with third party on Dad's account -it might take a good half hour or more to find out what he wanted to do as he could nardly speak due to his aphasia, but we managed to avoid getting involved with the Court of Protection. The Nationwide were very good in helping get as many direct debits sorted out as we could, n getting things sorted, unlike the Co-op who took over a year n a half to sort out third party!
We had some dealings with the C of P in the past re my late Gran on Mum's side as she was appointed to look after her affairs -we always had to deal via solicitors which meant a round trip of 128 miles each time!
And the C of P charges for their services as well which they didn't use to when my Mum was a Guardian forher Mum.
