Age UK is making more than £1million from a number of partnerships with companies that manufacture items such as hearing aids, beds and mobility scooters for the elderly.

Companies listed on the Age UK website pledge to pay the charity a proportion of profits or fixed amounts for “promotion and sale” of their products.

We get lots of calls form mobility firms,  I just tell them that we are on TPS & don't receive un solicited firms, they always say they will remove us from their list but I have no idea whether they do, I suppose I should keep a log of the names & then I can complain if they ring again

Deaf and blind 102-year-old 'pressurised' to buy scooter by Age UK mobility firm

A 102-year-old man claims he was "talked into" buying a mobility scooter that he could barely use because of his hearing problems and issues with his sight that made it almost impossible to read the contract for the £4,000 model
