I am fed up with buying shampoos and they dont do anything for my hair.
My scalp is dry and itchy.
Does anyone have any tips on what shampoo to use, to wash and nourish and get rid of the itchiness.

The more the shampoo promises the less it seems to deliver. The best shampoos I have found that don't give me build up or itchiness are supermarket own brands or baby shampoo.
Often shampoos have silicone in them which can be labelled as dimethicone is awful for hair. Gives you itchiness. Pantene uses it as well as a lot of the top brands.
Hope that helps Wendy.

I usually use Johnsons Baby Shampoo too, as my hair is fine and itches otherwise. x Jeanne

Mum uses Boots Expert dry itchy sensitive shampoo 200ml at £3.49. Reasonably priced and very effective.

gpr Sometimes I buy Boots own label shampoo - recently I have been using Superdrug shampoo with tea tree and intend to continue with that. Trouble I find is that you find something you like then next time they no longer stock it. I have heard that if you use conditioner it's best to have it separate not included in the shampoo but not sure about that. Hope you get on fine with that new shampoo Wendy

As I colour my hair now, I had been using shampoo for coloured hair, but I find it does make it dry, "strawy" so I have gone back to the cheaper stuff which i find is better..and cheaper !

I think it does Jane, and I remembered one that I used to use many years ago.
It was yellow liquid and very good.
I think a doctor suggested it to me, but I cant remember the name.
