For several years we have helped to get family carers onto the internet by asking people to donate unwanted laptops and then these are refurbished and sent out free to the carer.
Today we are finding that it is training that is needed to use the internet, without the carer knowing how to copy and paste and other necessary instructions they do not get the full benefit out of the www.
Often carers cannot leave the house because of their caring role, so something needs to be put into place for more training and suitable to the carers requirements as well as avoidable laptops.
Remember Carers Allowance is the lowest benefit there is, so a laptop would come last on the list of requirements for caring.
No one listens to the carers needs.

Copy and paste is what it say it is, you copy (words) and paste them.

Jeanne when I came onto the internet over 12 years ago, I like you had to learn.
You will find on chill loads of help about copy and paste, and if you ask the members they will most likely tell you, that is how they learnt.
But sometimes there were things that weren't on Chill (and still to this day) but I wanted to learn, so I used to do a search in google.
That is how I learnt.
What I am finding difficult to understand is when someone does not want to learn. I cannot understand this at all, and I would really like to be able to know the reasons.
The internet offers such a lot of interest, as you have already found out, and you even venture into the arcade to play games, which is wonderful, but we want other members know that there is even more fun for those who are afraid.
I think Jeanne you are doing great, and it is a joy to see you enjoying the forum and facebook.

O.K. point taken. This week I am going to try my hardest to copy and paste. Just extremely wary of new things. Thanks for the replies. x Jeanne

Don't worry Jeanne, it took me a long time to learn computer stuff & I am still learning, once you get the hang of copy and paste, you will be pleased with yourself, don't be afraid of giving it ago, it is the only way to learn
