Clapham Common Mona Lisa is the biggest, easellyMosaic: The giant work, created by the Brighton-based artist QD, is lowered into place (Picture: PA)

Her eyes reputedly follow you wherever you go and there’s no escaping this Mona Lisa.

The 14m (46ft) high mosaic has gone on show in Clapham Common, south-east London to promote a new Sky Arts programme.

It is made up 84 self-portraits and co-host Joan Bakewell said: ‘I’m sure we have surprised a few dog walkers today.’

A Sky Arts poll showed almost a quarter of people named the Mona Lisa as their favourite work, just ahead of Andy Warhol’s pictures of Marilyn Monroe.
