Rainbow cloud lights up stormy skies

Storm Gertrude may be causing a lot of traffic chaos and delay misery this morning but residents of an Aberdeenshire town awoke to this magical site in the sky.
Described on social media as a Rainbow Cloud, this natural phenomenon above Stonehaven has kicked Friday off to a smiling start.

Nacreous clouds, sometimes called mother-of-pearl clouds, are rare but once seen are never forgotten.
