Sad, but not surprising. Pentecostal type churches seem to be getting it right, our local one has a congregation of between 300 & 400 every week & the Methodist church I attend, has a congregation of around 100 with new members joining monthly.
Churches need to stop their holier than thou attitude & reach out to the community in which they are housed, that is why the 2 above are thriving

I agree Annie, and also they need to open the Churches for friendly meeting places in the community.
Too many people are left at home feeling lonely.
The old could mix with young and learn from each other.
