Telling a person they're fat makes them even fatter: Stress of being warned about weight gain stops people adopting healthier lifestyles

Telling someone they are overweight is likely to make them eat even more
Stress of finding out may be trigger that stops them from living healthier

I agree.

there are subtle ways of mentioning it but I would avoid telling someone. There is no nice way of doing it.

many years ago my mum made a comment about my weight and it really knocked my confidence. It kicked of some bad eating choices and weight loss programs for me and years of eating problems.

I once mistakenly asked someone when was the baby was due and she was not expecting, just overweight, easy mistake x90m

I was skinny most of my life and I didn't become anorexic.
