World Book Day is a celebration! It’s a celebration of authors, illustrators, books and (most importantly) it’s a celebration of reading. In fact, it’s the biggest celebration of its kind, designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, and marked in over 100 countries all over the world.

The girls are dressed up for world book day.

Sam is doing work experience at Liv's school today so they have gone as Thing 1 and 2 from cat in the hat!

My all time favourite book which answers all of you questions Liz is The Vanished man by Jeffery Deaver. it is captivating and a book I have read a few times as it is so clever.

When I was younger I read all the Enid Blyton's Famous Five and others of hers. Also the water babies which I adored.

There is nothing like the escapism of a good book.

I like Gregory Phillipa books, but I am reading a book at the moment about Fellbrig Hall

I have loved books all my life, when I was younger, Enid Blyton was my preferred author, I moved from Noddy to Secret Seven to the Famous Five.I am still able to escape from reality in reading.

At the moment I am reading Survivor by Linda Sawley ( a local Burnley author), it is about a spoiled heiress who survives the Titanic , which then turns her life round & she becomes a nurse & serves in WW1. I can highly recommend it.

My favourite authors at present are Anna Jacobs, James Patterson, Alexander McCall Smith and MC Beaton
