Carers also need to be cared for

All too often carers put their own wellbeing second to that of a sick family member

IT IS hugely positive that Staffordshire Fire and Rescue and community pharmacists are to work together to help protect vulnerable older people, particularly those in the early stages of dementia from being injured or killed in house fires.

As our population ages and dementia becomes a greater public health problem there will be an ever-growing need for such partnerships.

For too long older people suffering from this cruel disease have been sidelined by an overburdened welfare state.

Anything that strengthens the support network on which they depend can only be a good thing.

Home-grown talent to honour Scotland’s hidden army of carers at Celtic Connections concert line up announced

Organisers behind a special concert in January for people in Scotland who play a caring role have today announced a uniquely Scottish line up.
The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (the ALLIANCE) and Regular Music with Celtic Connections are delighted to confirm a range of home grown talents will come together to celebrate the lives of many of the 660,000 carers in Scotland and those who support them.

All carers have the same dilemna when leaving the house for the day. What to take, what to leave. However, it is possible to remember things if you sing it as you go.

“On the first hour of packing I must remember these:-
The Sat Nav with the car keys.

On the 2nd hour of packing I must remember these:-
2 packs of Werthers,
and a Sat Nav with the car keys.
