A Wymondham hairdresser gave customers a fright yesterday as she donned a ghoulish Halloween costume in a bid to raise sponsorship for a challenging mountain climb.

Kirsty Jones-Hanford, 21, manager at Cutting Edge hair salon, hoped her surprise dressing-up efforts would help her inch closer towards a £4,300 fundraising target she needs to hit before embarking on a trip to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro next September – the highest peak in Africa standing at 5,895m (19,341ft) above sea level.

A Carer visits a Carers Anonymous Meeting !

Carers Anonymous Meeting Held 27th October 2011.

Good Evening Mr. Chairman, Ladies and Gentlemen.

I hope you will forgive me for being terribly nervous as I am unaccustomed to public speaking.

I admit, here tonight before you all that I am a carer.

I first started caring about 10 years ago. I thought that it was a macho thing to do at the time. I was sure I could manage it, after all it seemed so simple and straightforward and I could fit it in with the other things I was doing, like full time work and general DIY round the house and garden.

We shall be helping our members learn more about the internet in our chatroom at

3pm 28th October

Many family home carers are not able to leave the house, so having the internet enables them to do shopping, banking, get services and most of all make friends.
