LINCOLNSHIRE Young Carers Partnership have had two accolades to celebrate.

Not only have they won the Healthcare People Management Association Award, they have also scooped the Judge’s Special Award for their ‘See Me Talk to Me’ project, which was designed to raise awareness of young carers’ issues.

One of its greatest successes was introducing the young carer’s card – providing proof to hospital staff and health professionals that young carers have a responsibility for someone.

The judges were said to be deeply impressed by the potential for this scheme.

There are 140 young carers who currently carry a card, but it could go on to be introduced countrywide.
