HYNDBURN’S MP is backing the family of a disabled toddler ‘penalised’ because they have to care for him full time.

Two-year-old Finley Rosbotham’s amazing progress has recently seen him take his first steps despite having cerebral palsy and being born paralysed down one side and with part of his brain missing.

Organisers of the region’s popular children’s convoy say this year’s event could be the last due to police reducing their level of support. 

For the past 25 years, crowds have lined the route from Norwich to Pleasurewood Hills theme park in Lowestoft on August bank holiday Sunday to cheer a convoy of up to 100 honking trucks taking disabled and disadvantaged youngsters and their families for a day out.

 Mrs Greenhill relies on carers but fears they will be taken away

A 74-year-old widow with cerebral palsy is worried that Birmingham City Council cuts will mean the loss of carers who are her only lifeline.

Falling on an uneven pavement in 1981 left Doreen Greenhill unable to walk.

She was born with cerebral palsy, which limited her movement on the right hand side of her body, but until the accident she had been able to lead an independent life.
