A HEARTBROKEN dad has penned a song in memory of his daughter who died a year ago.

Almost exactly a year to the day of Vicky Harrison’s death her father Tony has released ‘Angel on the Breeze’.

Vicky from Darwen died after taking an overdose following two years of desperately searching for a job.

The 21-year-old, with 10 GCSEs and three A-levels, died a day after she had received another rejection letter following a recent job interview.

Mr Harrison has had his song professionally recorded at a studio in Glasgow and hired a professional singer.

He has even made a video, which has been uploaded to Youtube. It has already been viewed by more than 1,500 people.

Mr Harrison said he wrote the song after seeing how many tributes had been made on Facebook. He said he wanted to make his own tribute and that he could not be happier with the ‘fantastic’ song.

He said: “I saw all of the wonderful things that were being written about Vicky and I wanted to add my own.

“I have never done anything musical in my life but I have had help and I’m really pleased with the outcome.

“It is a sad song but not morbid.

“Already I have had a lot of messages from people who have found comfort in the song, which is wonderful.

“It has turned out far better than expected.”

The song’s video includes videos and photos of Vicky.

He said that the last year, since her death on March 31, had been tough.

He said: “It has been terrible and things do not get any easier but the song project has been therapeutic.”
