Children are being encouraged to get involved in a sponsored relay event to raise funds for the Norwich Lowriders Junior Wheelchair Basketball team.

The Kids 4 Kids Fun Sponsored 10 Mile Relay in Norwich next month is the brainchild of Tonya Knights, from Coltishall, who recently set up the charity Let’s Do It Anyway Funding to help good causes in the local community.

As part of the Medical Research Council’s Cognitive Function and Ageing Studies project, the study is the first systematic investigation into the long–term health impacts of ‘anticholinergic activity’ – a known potential side–effect of many prescription and over–the–counter drugs which affects the brain by blocking a key neurotransmitter called acetylcholine. The findings are published today by the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society.

A Norfolk teenager has told of the difficulties facing young carers as they try to get an education while looking after family members.
Hannah Cargill, from Great Yarmouth, has become a campaigner for young carers in the county as a key member of the Norfolk Young Carers Forum, which was launched last year.
