Norfolk Care Awards celebrate the heroes in the region

The second Norfolk Care Awards saw some of the most deserving receive recognition for the hard work and dedication they demonstrate every day while delivering care and support to the people in the region.

Library hosts course to teach new tablet technology

Carers have been getting to grips with the latest technology thanks to a free course at Hellesdon Library.

The session on how to use computer tablets was organised by Chill4Us carers group, which runs a website for carers, with the help of
 social welfare law and tech charity Lasa.

Norfolk County Council approves cuts as new budget set

The council’s government grant will be reduced by £42m in 2015-16 and costs will rise by £27m, the council said.

Councillors agreed a budget of £318m on Monday after a meeting lasting nearly six hours.

The council is run by an alliance of Labour, Lib Dems and UKIP supported by the Greens.

‘Tough decisions’

Total cuts amounting to almost £11m will affect community services, arts funding, libraries and road maintenance.
