1st – 30th November Lung Cancer Awareness Month

1st – 30th November Lung Cancer Awareness Month

Lung cancer is the UK’s biggest cancer killer, claiming the lives of more than 33,500 people in the UK every year – more than leukaemia, breast and prostate cancer combined – yet it receives a mere 3% of all money spent on cancer research in this country.

The British Lung Foundation believes it is vital that this balance is redressed in order that people with lung cancer receive the best possible treatment and care available.

As a founding member of the United Kingdom Lung Cancer Coalition (UKLCC) the British Lung Foundation is working together with leading lung cancer experts, senior NHS and Department of Health professionals, charities and healthcare companies to give people with lung cancer a true voice. The BLF provides the Secretariat to this group.

The British Lung Foundation is also a member of the Lung Cancer Awareness Month Working Group, a coalition of charities which, together with the Department of Health, helps to raise awareness of the disease in Lung Cancer Awareness Month, which takes place in November.

To get involved in this campaign you can email your local MP or make you voice heard in our opinion poll.
